David Makhateli

1992

David comes from Tbilisi, Georgia.

At the age of ten he begins his ballet training at the State Choreographic Institute Tbilisi.

In 1992 he is the winner oft he Prix Espoir at the Prix de Lausanne.

With a grant from the Pierino Ambrosoli Foundation, he studies at the Royal Ballet School in London.

For the 1994-95 season, David receives a contract with the Birmingham Royal Ballet.

In 1996 he becomes a member of the Het National Ballet in Amsterdam.

1998 David dances with the Houston Ballet in Texas.

In 2003 he is appointed First Solist, in 2007 principal dancer at the Royal Ballet.

In March 2013 David puts on stage the gala performance Nurejew & Friends with international stars at the Palais des Congrès in Paris under the artistic direction of Charles Jude (director of the Bordeaux Ballet).
His new founded D&D dance production agency in Europe is creating beautiful and striking events for live performances, film and photography.

2014 David organises with his D & D Art Productions, the second edition of La Nuit des Etoiles, a gala with international ballet stars, at the Cirque Royal in Brussels. The cast includes world stars of The Royal Ballet, Bolshoi and Mariinsky Theatre, Dutch National Ballet and English National Ballet.
